Students will learn the fundamentals of music on the guitar. Young students do best with the study of single note melody (note reading). The class will also cover rhythm, beginning chords, theory and proper playing technique. The adult class will learn basic chords, proper playing technique, flat-picking rhythm styles and finger-picking styles along with applied theory. (8 classes)

Intermediate Guitar 102 (Ages 11-Adult)
Prerequisite: Knowledge of basic chords.
A continuation of Beginning Guitar 101, with more advanced studies of strumming, flat-picking, finger-picking and chord progression, all while playing songs. Note reading, applied theory and singing will be introduced. (8 classes)
Tuesday 1:00-1:55 starting June 30th – August 18th Cost: $80 per student
Aloha Guitar & Electric Bass (All Ages)
Students must have basic knowledge of guitar chords.
Hawaiian & Island style classes will parallel the ukulele program. Students will learn to play the same songs as the ukelele class. Strumming and finger-picking technique plus slack key styles will be introduced. (6 classes)

Ukulele 101 (ages 8-Adult)
Students will learn the fundamentals of music on the ukelele. The class will cover rhythm, beginning chords, theory and proper playing technique. This class is for the beginning ukulele player. (6 classes)
Saturday 10:00-10:55 starting July 11th-August 15th Cost: $65 per student
Instructor: Letly Su’a has more than 50+ years of experience playing professionally and teaching the ukulele.
Students must provide their own guitar (acoustic or electric) or ukulele, instruments must be playable & tunable. Instruction books and instruments will be available for purchase from Marshall Music and/or instructor.
Drums For Fun (Ages 8-Adult)
Students will learn the basic techniques of drumming. Instruction includes proper grip positions, hand and wrist development, sight reading, hand and foot coordination, rudimental training and drumset techniques. Students will have the opportunity to play on a drumset. The instructor provides sticks, practice pads and music sheets during group lessons. Sticks and pads may be purchased through Marshall Music and/or the instructor.

Beginning Violin 1A/1B (Ages 4-6 years & Ages 7-Adult)
1A- An introductory program based on Suzuki concepts, where violin position, rhythm, and listening skills are learned (4 weeks). Materials provided.
1B- Continuing Beginning Violin Group Class 1A. Suzuki based concepts, building skills in group classes, playing the violin in correct position, holding the bow using applied rhythm and listening skills (6 weeks). Materials needed: Violin rental, music book; Suzuki book 1 w/CD, music stand. All materials can be purchased at Marshall Music.
